IB Profile

The International Baccalaureate

 

It is a private organization established in the 60s, as an answer to the needs of a group of English and Swedish diplomats so that the education of their children be international and adaptable to any country, culture, creed or language.

 

IB programs

The IB programs are different, because among other things, their main focus is on the student. These programs are international and based on constructivism. The educational expectations are based on the IB, as well as upon the national required programs.

 

 

Elementary Level Program

PYP is one of the three programs offered by the IB and it is addressed to children from 3 to 11 years. It is centered in the integral development of the child since it covers their social, physical, emotional and cultural needs, in addition to their academic potential.

 

Middle Years Program

This program is for students 11 to 16 years old. This period, which covers the initial and middle stages of adolescence, is a very critical phase of the personal and intellectual development, and it requires a program to help the students participate actively and responsibly in an ever changing world and every day more interconnected. Learning how to learn and how to critically assess the information is as important as learning the content of the different subjects.

 

Diploma Program

It is an international education curriculum, demanding and stimulating, taken in two years and is addressed to students between 16 and 19 years old. This program is offered today in Monterrey by the high schools of the Tecnológico de Monterrey (ITESM), the Universidad de Monterrey (UDEM), the Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León (CIDEB), as well as by the Liceo de Monterrey.

 

The quality of learning in the educational process of these students is very obvious. These programs, which also promote the intellectual development of all those who participate in them, are complemented with hours of creativity, physical conditioning and social services.

 

Because of all this, a high percentage of our students become responsible for their future education by learning how to learn and perceiving themselves as agents of change in a complex and difficult society of which they are part and they can have a positive influence.
