INITIATION AND HISTORY OF OUR SCHOOL

Madison Monterrey School was the first school founded, of now, six Madison Campuses . It was founded in spring of 1978 to offer another educational opportunity to the citizens of Monterrey offering levels from Nursery to Middle School. In 1999, we completed the process of registration as an applicant school with the IB (International Baccalaureate Organization) and fulfilled, over four years, each of the requirements to become an authorized International School offering the Primary Years Program (PYP) for Kindergarten and Elementary in 2003. Finally in 2007 we were authorized to offer the Middle Years Program (MYP) for middle school.

1978

Madison Bilingual School of Monterrey was the first school founded. It was established in spring of 1978 to offer an educational opportunity to the people of Monterrey. The School started with the Montessori system with an initial population of 36 students; today it has over 500.

1993

In 1993 Instituto Anglo Británico was established in Apodaca N.L. It is the second campus of the Group of Madison Schools.

1994

In 1994, with the high demand of bilingual schools in our community, CBM decided to become a bilingual school and therefore it adopted a new model. Throughout the transformation process we asked for special assistance from a group of Canadian educators who, in collaboration with the Mexican teachers, established the standards and the guidelines so that the new model could be prosperous. With that commission the name of the school changed from Montessori School to Madison Bilingual School.

1999

In 1999, we established two more schools, one in Chihuahua and the other one in Torreón. That same year, with the educational demands of a globalized world, Madison Bilingual School of Monterrey, Madison Bilingual School of Chihuahua and Instituto Anglo Británico completed the application process to be registered with the IB (International Baccalaureate Organization).

2003

After four years seeking to comply with each one of the requirements to be accepted as an International School, Madison Bilingual School and the Instituto Anglo Británico were authorized by the IB to offer the Primary Years Program (PYP).

2007

In 2007, the Madison Bilingual School of Monterrey and the Instituto Anglo Británico were authorized to offer the Middle Years Program (MYP) for grades 6° to 9º. That same year two more schools were established. One to the south of Monterrey, at the Herradura.

2011

In 2011, the IBO accredited La Herradura campus to teach the elementary school program PEP and Middle Years Program (MYP).
